    I'm a MBACP (member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I qualified as a counsellor in 2005 from Thames Valley University with a Post postgraduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
  • Maintaining Boundaries
    In the realm of online presence, it is crucial to address the potential blurring of interpersonal boundaries. We strive for clarity in recognising how these boundaries may be challenged in a digital environment. Our primary commitment is to uphold the sanctity of our clinical work within online consultation room. However, we acknowledge that the digital landscape may occasionally test these boundaries. Thus, we aim to provide clear guidelines for your understanding. Telephone and Video Sessions Sessions are conducted via Microsoft Teams. We diligently select video conferencing software known for its encryption capabilities, which may require you to install specific software or log into a web-based application. During video conferencing, both parties agree not to use any recording devices for remote sessions. Email Communication We currently do not employ email encryption software, which means that emails exchanged between us may be susceptible to viruses or inadvertent human errors. Consequently, it is advisable to exercise caution when composing emails to us and to select your email address judiciously. Typically, emails are best suited for non-confidential communications such as scheduling appointments. To maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and psychological content, it is preferable to avoid discussing such matters via email unless mutually agreed upon beforehand. Your preferred email address will be requested during our initial session. Please be aware that all emails are retained in Internet Service Providers' logs and may be susceptible to viruses, unintended forwarding, or replication. If email confidentiality concerns you, consider contacting us by phone instead. Text Messages Feel free to use text messages to notify me of session delays or similar time-sensitive matters. However, due to the limited context provided by text messages, they are generally not ideal for discussing significant issues. In such cases, we encourage you to call and leave a voicemail requesting a call back. Google Searches It's common to search for information online, including about professionals. We understand and respect this practice. However, if your search raises questions or concerns, we encourage you to discuss them with us openly and promptly. The evolving digital landscape prompts us to adapt continuously. We will update this digital policy as our understanding grows, and we value your feedback and honesty along the way.
